Interoperability protocol, LayerZero is integrating with the Shimmer Network to facilitate smoother cross-chain communications and enhance DeFi on IOTA’s ShimmerEVM.

ShimmerEVM’s LayerZero Integration

On December 27, the ShimmerEVM team from IOTA made a significant announcement through a blog post, revealing their integration with LayerZero, a notable omnichain interoperability protocol. The move aims to revolutionize cross-chain communication and enhance the decentralized finance (DeFi) experience within the Shimmer ecosystem.

The team wrote,

"We are thrilled to announce the integration of LayerZero (https://layerzero.network) with ShimmerEVM, entering a new era of cross-chain communication and DeFi on Shimmer."

ShimmerEVM Reach Expands

Shimmer, an integral blockchain platform in the IOTA ecosystem, facilitates the development and deployment of decentralized applications (dApps). ShimmerEVM serves as the Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible layer within the Shimmer platform. With this integration, ShimmerEVM's reach expands, connecting seamlessly with major blockchains and enhancing interoperability across diverse networks.
