Vodafone’s Digital Asset Broker (DAB) has joined forces with Chainlink Labs to demonstrate that global trading operations can be conducted successfully on the blockchain. 

Revolutionizing Global Trade

Vodafone DAB, a joint venture between Vodafone Group and Sumitomo Corporation, has partnered strategically with Chainlink Labs to revolutionize global trade. According to reports, this partnership, aimed at optimizing the exchange of data for marine cargo, seeks to overcome the hurdles posed by fragmented systems.

Vodafone DAB, in collaboration with Chainlink Labs, Sumitomo Corporation, and InnoWave, conducted a successful proof of concept on trade document transfers. This initiative aims to address the persistent challenges within the $32 trillion global trade ecosystem, notably pertaining to secure document transfers.

In an effort to bridge the gap between traditional markets and decentralized platforms, Vodafone DAB is harnessing Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) to facilitate secure communication among various platforms, blockchains, and Internet of Things (IoT) assets through a user-friendly interface, ensuring seamless data exchange.

Tackling Global Trade Challenges

With a colossal estimated value of $32 trillion, the global trade ecosystem has long grappled with the efficient movement of data and tokens. Jorge Bento, the Chief Executive at Vodafone DAB, underscores the significance of this partnership, emphasizing their united efforts to overcome the incompatibilities that hinder secure document transfers in international trade. 

Bento states, 

"Vodafone DAB and Chainlink are showing how their platforms can be combined to cut through this sea of incompatibility by bridging traditional markets with advanced decentralized platforms."

Vodafone Joins Chainlink As Node Operator

In addition to this partnership, Vodafone has also joined the Chainlink Network as a Node Operator. This strategic move is anticipated to empower corporations and businesses in the creation and execution of smart contracts. Furthermore, it is expected to open up new avenues for monetizing Internet of Things (IoT) devices, fostering innovation in the business landscape.

Chainlink's Remarkable Surge
