Government authorities in Gibraltar have just announced that they have been officially appointed as an observing member of the global blockchain business Council. This will mean that it will be working alongside industry leaders from the sector coming from all over the world.

The announcement states that Gibraltar is expecting to promote adoption across the British overseas territory and will be looking into numerous different subjects such as regulation and education with business leaders and regulators which will help make the country a more pro blockchain.

As a little bit of background on the council, it was launched in Davos in 2017 and has a strong philosophy about education, advocacy and partnership. This will all help strengthen adoption for blockchain technology in the long run.

Speaking on the announcement was the chief executive officer of the Council, Sandra Ro who said the following on the matter:

“The Global Blockchain Business Council welcomes the Government of Gibraltar into our global network as a GBBC Observing Member. We look forward to highlighting the important digital assets and blockchain technology work and innovation from Gibraltar as we advance global collaboration, adoption, and opportunities.”
