“Did somebody say Just Eat?“
One of the biggest British online suit order and delivery services that operates all over the world, Just Eat has recently added cryptocurrency as a team payment support for its French subsidiary.
After teaming up with Bitpay, the delivery service will now allow its users to pay in bitcoin for their food. Users on the platform will be able to order food from across 15,000 restaurants in France using the leading cryptocurrency.
Interestingly enough, this coincides with the acquisition of Just Eat France by Takeaway.com, which has been accepting payments in the flagship Cryptocurrency for three years now for the other platforms it had acquired.
According to the website for the French subsidiary of the delivery service, the payment process says that its users will have to create a digital wallet by installing a specific software or application. From here, they can link it to the Just Eat France application and choose the bitcoin payment option when they go to check out. from here, they will be redirected to the Bitpay payment portal to finish and order their food.
Depending on its current price, the value of bitcoin will be calculated on the crypto platform and from here, Just Eat will not charge any transaction fees for the cryptocurrency payments.
Interestingly though, if a user cancels an order paid in cryptocurrency, the platform will make a refund of the correct amount in Euros to the user’s bank account rather than in bitcoin. Again, this will all go off the real-time price of the leading Cryptocurrency.
It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out. For more news on this and other crypto updates, keep it with CryptoDaily!
