We published an article earlier today in which the CEO of Ripple, Brad Garlinghouse talked about how the company stays afloat due to the selling of its flagship token, XRP, we want to look into the logistics of that and discuss it more.
In the interview, Garlinghouse said that the funds earned from the selling of XRP are used to fund the numerous blockchain projects that the company pushes. Such money is also able to fund other budgets such as miscellaneous things, as well as the salary of its employees. It was even reported last year that some employees of the company are being paid in the token.
The CEO clarified that the software products from the company make a separate and significant source of revenue for ripple. The sales from XRP have become an issue within the community in recent times. There are increased calls for the company to hit the pause button on the selling of XRP as some people think that it is the main reason the price of the token being affected. In fact, others are saying that the dumping of the token is at the expense of the community.
In the fourth quarter of last year, the sales of XRP reduced quite significantly. 80% was decreased in the sale for the token which is a positive development even though there was no specific reaction from the token itself.
