The chief executive officer of one of the biggest budget airlines in the world Ryanair, Michael O’Leary has recently had some harsh words to say on the leading Cryptocurrency.

O’Leary didn’t shy away from comparing bitcoin to a pyramid scheme and even went as far to advise investors to steer clear of the nascent assets.

Speaking on the coin, he said:

“I have never, and would never, invest one cent in Bitcoin, which I believe is equivalent to a Ponzi scheme. [...] I would strongly advise everyone with any shred of common sense to ignore this false story and avoid Bitcoin like a plague.”

The CEO was referencing an apparent CryptoScam called Bitcoin Lifestyle. This scam claimed to have his approval in a promotional campaign by using his name and face to promote it.

According to a fake news article, O’Leary took part in an interview on the late late show in America and shocked the audience by showing how much money he was making with the bitcoin scheme. It allegedly advertises itself as an automated trading system.

The scam even went on to say that the national Irish bank called in on the show to attempt in an attempt to stop O’Leary from continuing his story. Funny thing is, the national Irish bank does not exist.

This isn’t the first time not a wealthy person has had their image and status used in order to promote a bitcoin/cryptocurrency scam. The money-saving expert, Martin Lewis has in the past seen his image used for fraudulent means as well as royalty. The former Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Megan Markle have even had their faces used to front a bitcoin scam.

It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out. For more news on this and other crypto updates, keep it with CryptoDaily!
