The journey that PayPal has experienced throughout the industry started in 2016 2013 when the then president of the company, David Marcus told Bloomberg that it’s just a question of whether it’s gonna make its way to PayPal is a funding instrument or not. Fast forward to 2014 and the CEO of eBay, John Donahoe basically confirmed that the payments apart from will have to integrate bitcoin one day in order to keep up with the financial landscape changing. Following this, the company partnered with three payment processes within the industry in September 2014 including BitPay, Coinbase, and GoCoin. But this was just the tip of the iceberg.
At the end of last month, reports surfaced saying that people were considering introducing direct sales of crypto-assets through PayPal and Venmo. This is an interesting response as it more than likely means that something interesting is on the way from PayPal in regards to the crypto space.
