Earlier today we published an article talking about PayPal & bitcoin and how the payments company is allegedly getting involved deeply in crypto space. According to industry sources, this is a change that will be coming in the foreseeable future with users being able to store and send the cryptocurrency such as bitcoin. In the reports from CoinDesk it’s further states:

“My understanding is that they are going to allow buys and sells of crypto directly from PayPal and Venmo. They are going to have some sort of a built-in wallet functionality so you can store it there.”

The source also adds that a significant number of cryptocurrencies would be available although they didn’t specify how many or what assets in the announcement. PayPal and its subsidiary, Venmo are going to be looking into the market with an eagle eye and it would be working with several crypto platforms to source liquidity. On top of this, the chief technical officer PayPal, Sri Shivananda has said that the company wanted its own perspective on blockchain and they wanted to see how it could help them contribute to the concept of creating an open digital payments platform that could help everyone and anyone.

Shivananda further said:

“We are a strong believer in the potential of blockchain. The digitization of currency is only a matter of when not if.”

It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out. For more news on this and other crypto updates, keep it with CryptoDaily!
