Over the course of 2020, there have been a lot of unexpected events to occur throughout the world. COVID-19 being one of the biggest things to happen this year and potentially this decade. But even though the severity of COVID-19 has had such an impact on our lives, the emergence of the black lives matter movement Has arisen in its ashes. Following the death of George Floyd at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer, the black lives matter movement took on a movement that we may never see again. However, that being said it is very important to keep this movement going as it is sparking justice in the United States as well as in other parts of the world.

The cryptocurrency world was not far behind the support of this movement as many big figures within the industry showed their strong support for the protesters in the black lives matter movement.

Even though many people within the industry have been sure and support for this movement, how could bitcoin itself help socio-economic issues such as what is going on today?

It’s hard to say what kind of role bitcoin will play in the future of revolutionary movements such as the BLM movement. Whether it’s a vital one or a small one, Any support is needed during times like these. During protests in Hong Kong last year, many of the demonstrators turned to bitcoin as a way for finance given that the nation's financial and communications systems were severed. But as stricter measures went on, Internet connections were lost and this took down their support for bitcoin.

It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out. For more news on this and other crypto updates, keep it with CryptoDaily!
