How history will remember COVID-19 and bitcoin in the years to come

The article got me thinking about this year and everything that’s going on with the coronavirus crisis and how that will impact the years to come. 

With the bitcoin halving event just around the corner, many people in the crypto community are extremely excited and highly anticipating what the future will hold for the leading cryptocurrency as well as the industry as a whole. The coronavirus has opened up our eyes to how social interactions play such a major role in our day-to-day life. Going into work and leaving the house I know a thing of the past, unless you are a key worker. For those people that live in big Tower flats in big cities such as London and Manchester, being stuck inside for such a long time can have a big impact on a person's mental and physical health.

When it comes to the stock market and the financial world, many investors are worried about what the next few months will hold for their investments. Cryptocurrency is no different however, the world of crypto does seem to be going through a positive movement at the time of writing but its volatile nature suggests that traders could be shocked in the near future.

When you look back on this crisis in five years time, whether you’re a fan of crypto or not, it will be interesting to see how such a nascent industry weathered the storm of an economic crisis. After all, bitcoin was created following the 2008 financial crash so I suppose in theory, shouldn’t it be able to survive one in today’s climate?

The impact of coronavirus on our economy and day-to-day lives will go down in history as one of the strangest months of the 21st-century. At the end of the day, no one really knows what we’re dealing with. A vaccine is yet to be created and so our only course of action is to self isolate away from our friends and family.
