Is BTC limiting itself in the monetary sense despite being the king?
  • With traditional and institutional investors looking up to the leading cryptocurrency, the future of the industry (and the world) is up in the air.

With traditional and institutional investors looking up to the leading cryptocurrency, the future of the industry (and the world) is up in the air. With greater regulatory clarity and new investment products on the horizon, the industry is looking good despite all the uncertainty in the world right now.

However, despite this, there is a lot of distrust when it comes to crypto and blockchain. But even this is slowly going away with bitcoin being considered a legitimate store of value assets in today’s world.

In a recent episode of the unchained podcast, the CEO and CIO of ARK Invest, Cathie Wood and the somatic analyst at the company Yassine Elmandjra, have highlighted how the leading crypto coin is the go-to asset for institutional investors. Furthermore, they added that the intricate details between the networks of bitcoin and ETH play a role in driving so the confidence from investors as well as adoption rates. Wood highlighted that one of the big reasons behind crypto portfolio allegations are:

“The value in these ecosystems is going to be dominated by the currencies and Bitcoin being the reserve currency would be where I’d allocate most of our assets in this space. Although I could see over time,  there are other currencies that evolve.”

Bitcoin always takes over the industry which is why the second-biggest crypto in space, ETH has chosen a different developmental route compared to the leading coin. Elmandjra notes it is different by classifying it as a divergence between innovation maximalists and monitoring maximalists. He further said:

“When you look at it from a kind of a money first mindset, then you start and kind of end with Bitcoin. In which case, kind of the investor focus is really around kind of that assurance theory of money and looking at this really from a monetary view.”

It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out. For more news on this and other crypto updates, keep it with CryptoDaily!
