Payment Implementation from Bakkt Looks Great For Starbucks Customers

One big digital asset platform is making it even easier for customers of the popular chain, Starbucks.

Users of the mobile app for the coffee shop will soon be given the option to pay for their drinks with Bakkt Cash. The parent company of the bitcoin derivatives provider, Intercontinental Exchange declared back in August 2018 that the coffee giant was looking at applications in retail for cryptocurrency payments.

The President of Bakkt, Adam White revealed this week that the new payment integration with the coffee chain is well underway.

For those that don’t know, the Bakkt platform kicked off its bitcoin options contracts last year. These options are derivatives that have been designed to help traders with more leeway in hedging against an asset. 

These future contracts were seen and met by the crypto community in a very disappointing manner. Especially given the hype that the platform had been building a year prior.
