It’s safe to say that cryptocurrency and blockchain have entered the mainstream area. The leading cryptocurrency, bitcoin has become a big discussion topic for many financial practitioners within the industry and also seen several institutional investors get involved over the past few years.

There are many financial institutions such as JP Morgan which have also started to get involved with the crypto space. In fact, JP Morgan created its own JPMC Blockchain Center of Excellence in 2015 which helped develop solutions on the blockchain.

With all of this, the CEO of Binance, Changpeng Zhao recently spoken in an interview where he highlighted that a big number of these kinds of investors who are very willing to enter the digital industry despite the uncertainty surrounding it.

One of the managing directors at Grayscale, Michael Sonnenshein recently gave his opinion that crypto could further see benefit from more institutional involvement. He said that with further liquidity, awareness will be raised and during even be draw in bigger investors as a result. 

He further added:

“If you look at the digital currency landscape as a whole, now being US$100 billion to US$200 billion in total as an asset class, that’s pretty small when you compare it to the market caps of other asset classes.”
