The ‘Ice-Age’ of Mining Pushed Back Once More By Ethereum
  • Berlin hard fork to be used in delaying ice-age of mining
  • The hard fork is set to arrive in June 2020
  • ETH 2.0 shouldn’t have any issues at launch according to Buterin

The move to proof-of-stake for Ethereum may be delayed even further as the Berlin hard fork will most likely be utilised in order to postpone the “ice age” for miners in the space. This move crops up once more, despite the promises that Ethereum would not actually be minable in the near future.

The postponing to the ice age of mining has been occurring on multiple times for around three years now. With Ethereum’s network continuing on with just a slightly different hitch on conditions. Now, the upcoming and highly anticipated ETH 2.0 is looking like a promise that may not be becoming reality any time soon.

The Berlin hard fork is locked in for June next year meaning that there are at least a year and a half until the ice age - or a brand new decision to push it back.

ETH 2.0

In the crypto space, Ethereum has established itself as one of the greats. The second-biggest cryptocurrency, at the time of writing, has included important and highly active contracts and tokens, the shift may be problematic. The co-founder of the project, Vitalik Buterin has insisted that the upcoming ETH 2.0 should see arrival without any hiccups, but we’ll have to wait and see.

It will be interesting to see how ETH 2.0 plays out. For more news on this and other crypto updates, keep it with CryptoDaily!
