After a failed sponsorship deal in 2022, Crypto.com has become the official cryptocurrency partner of the UEFA Champions League, securing a three-year deal to enhance brand exposure and offer Web3 experiences to fans.

Another Sponsorship Deal For Crypto.com

The UEFA Champions League has its first official cryptocurrency partner. The highly prestigious club football championship has officially announced its sponsorship with Crypto.com for the 2024-27 cycle. Under the three-year agreement, Crypto.com will have sponsorship rights for the UEFA Super Cup, the UEFA Youth League, and the UEFA Futsal Champions League.

The crypto firm started acting as a sponsor at the Real Madrid Vs. Atalanta match on 14 August Wednesday, in Warsaw, Poland.

Brand Exposure For Crypto.com

The sponsorship will give Crypto.com access to far-reaching brand exposure through in-game perimeter LED boards, media interview backdrops, and broadcast sponsorship opportunities. Furthermore, Crypto.com will also benefit from opportunities for exclusive on-site activation during all UEFA events.

Steven Kalifowitz, chief marketing officer at Crypto.com, acknowledged the opportunity to further engage with fans and followers of these iconic global sporting events.

He said,

“We have successfully built the Crypto.com brand and community by producing innovative and groundbreaking moments and events in a way that others have not been able to replicate. Connecting our brand with engaged sports fans around the world has effectively grown our user base to over 100 million in pursuit of our mission of cryptocurrency in every wallet.”

Web3 Adoption Through Sports Sponsorships

Crypto.com has consistently expanded its user base by actively targeting sports fans to boost crypto and Web3 adoption globally. The latest partnership with the UEFA Champions League follows its signature partnership move of sponsoring recognized global brands in the sports and entertainment space. Similar instances include the iconic Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, as well as partnerships with Formula 1, UFC, and others.

The crypto giant had previously backed out of a sponsorship deal worth $496 million with the UEFA Champions League in 2022, citing legal concerns over trading licenses in the U.K., France, and Italy.

Unique Web3 Experiences For UEFA Fans

The collaboration with Crypto.com will also help UEFA provide unique experiences to football and futsal fans by creating Web3-powered memorable moments at the UEFA Champions League matches.

Talking about the partnership, Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA marketing director, said,

“This collaboration marks an exciting new chapter for the UEFA Champions League as we embrace innovative technologies to enhance the experience for our fans and community. Together with Crypto.com, we look forward to exploring new opportunities as we begin a new, exciting chapter of the premier club football competition.”
