Coinbase Wallet introduced a feature allowing users to transfer cryptocurrencies through a link that can be sent via some of the most popular social media channels and email.

Coinbase Wallet announced an exciting new way users can send crypto cheaper, faster, and more accessible. In a December 5 blog post, Coinbase Wallet said, “Users can now send money on any platform that they can share a link — including messaging apps like WhatsApp, iMessage, Telegram, and via popular social media apps, email, and more.”

Instant Settlement and Zero Fees for USDC Transfers

Coinbase Wallet just made sending crypto more convenient. The crypto exchange introduced a feature through its Coinbase Wallet where users can effortlessly send money. This innovative service removes the hassles of dealing with bank account numbers, expensive wire transfers, bank fees, and waiting up to five (5) business days for funds to become available. Users can instantly settle transfers by simply using a link from Coinbase Wallet to send over several popular social media sites. The exchange also said there is no payment fee when sending USD Coin (USDC).

Sending money has never been so easy. Users must create a link in Coinbase Wallet and share it over messaging apps or social media channels. The benefit of this feature is further enhanced by the fact that Coinbase Wallet is available in 20 languages and over 170 countries.

Coinbase Wallet listed WhatsApp, iMessage, Telegram, Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok, Instagram, and even conventional email as channels through which the feature can be used.

In its blog post, Coinbase said:

“These updates reflect our commitment to making money transfers easier, cheaper, faster, and borderless. By reducing complexity and fees while expanding global access, we’re enabling millions of people to engage with the cryptoeconomy in meaningful ways.”

Unclaimed Funds Returned to Sender After Two Weeks

Coinbase explained that when a recipient clicks on the shared link, it will take them into the Coinbase Wallet app to claim the funds or direct them to download the app on Android or iOS and create a new wallet in just one click. To enhance user safety, Coinbase said funds not claimed within two weeks of sending will automatically return to the sender.

The company also caters to less tech-savvy users. Coinbase made a “simple mode” for its Wallet to help inexperienced users, which only displays essential functions such as buying, sending, receiving, and viewing assets.
