The professional wrestling organization has announced its upcoming NFT marketplace, to be launched just before WrestleMania 38.

WWE Moonsault Going Live Soon

On March 13, WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon announced the name of the new platform - WWE Moonsault, at the SXSW 2022 in Austin, Texas, at Blockchain Creative Labs. The launch of the marketplace will be closely followed by WrestleMania 38, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 2, and Sunday, April 3.

The marketplace will go live on the website wwemoonsault.com, where fans can now go and sign up for an email list for more information and regular updates. The marketplace is also welcoming the official WWE Universe Discord community. As of now, the first message posted in the community reads,

"Welcome to the WWE Universe. The one and only official WWE Discord server. Here, you’ll be able to discuss your favorite Superstars, get exclusive content from our premium live events every single month, and information on our ultra collectible NFTs!"

Once live, fans will be able to hop onto the marketplace and use fiat currency or crypto to buy, trade, sell, and store NFTs by creating a digital wallet powered by Eluvio.

Partnership Launches NFT Marketplace

WWE’s first venture in the crypto world was initiated with the launch of its Undertaker NFT collection during April 2021’s WrestleMania weekend. Following up on the release, the company dropped another collection of NFTs, this time featuring John Cena NFTs, during the SummerSlam weekend in 2021.

Eventually, 2021 also witnessed WWE signing a multi-year partnership with Fox Entertainment’s blockchain division, known as Blockchain Creative Labs. The two have collaborated to build a marketplace for officially licensed digital tokens and collectibles, similar to the NFT collections that WWE had previously launched.

More Collectibles To Come

The partnership also intends to create authentic NFTs for the WWE’s entire catalog of digital assets featuring WWE superstars and iconic moments in its history. These collectibles will capture memorable moments from events like WrestleMania and SummerSlam while staying eco-friendly because of the Eluvio blockchain technology.

Senior VP of Revenue Strategy & Development at WWE, Scott Zanghellini had said,

“Blockchain Creative Labs has quickly become a leader in the space with an incredible executive team that truly understands the NFT arena and its tremendous potential. This new partnership allows us to deepen our relationship with Fox, as we continue to explore new and creative ways to engage our passionate fanbase.”
