Hip-Hop Icon Eminem Becomes The Latest Member Of The Bored Ape Yacht Club

Eminem has joined the Bored Ape Party and has spent a lot of money while doing it, with fans on Twitter noticing that he had changed his avatar on the website to a Bored Ape NFT. Eminem had opened his OpenSea account barely a week ago but has already amassed a number of NFTs.

Details Of The Purchase

According to a report by blockchain publication Decrypt, Eminem, aka Marshall Mathers, purchased his Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT for 123.45 ETH. the value of this at the time of the transaction was roughly around $452,000.

The user from whom the artist purchased the NFT “GeeGazza” was understandably ecstatic, tweeting,

“I’m living in a simulation. “Thank you, @Eminem, for buying my ape and joining the club! Madness. Let me write a lyric in your next single.”

The user had posted about the NFT in November, believing that it resembled Eminem and that the hip-hop icon was destined to purchase the NFT from him.

Letting His Avatar Do The Talking

While Eminem has not publicly spoken about his purchase of the Bored Ape, he has gone ahead and changed his avatar on Twitter and Instagram, making it very clear that he was behind the purchase.

Eminem joins a number of high-profile individuals in the Bored Ape Yacht Club, joining others such as Post Malone, Jimmy Fallon, and NBA Superstar Stephen Curry, who purchased a Bored Ape for $180,000 recently.

Other Purchases

Bored Ape Yacht Club is among the most popular NFT sets on OpenSea, and currently has a floor price of 73.5 ETH or $280,000. However, this is not the only NFT purchase made by the artist. His OpenSea account, opened less than a week back, has already purchased 22 NFTs.

Eminem’s NFT Auction

Eminem had released his NFT collection back in April on the Nifty Gateway. The collection included three types of NFTs that were up for sale and included an original beat created by the rapper himself. The sale had taken place on Nifty Gateway and consisted of 50 editions of “Tools of The Trade” and Still D.G.A.F, priced at $5000 dollars. These were almost instantly sold out. The last NFT in the drop was a limited edition single copy titled Stans Revenge.

SnoopDog Behind CozomoMedici

In September, SnoopDog had sent the Twitterverse into a frenzy by revealing that he was behind the handle CozomoMedici. The artist revealed that he is deep into the NFT space, having amassed NFTs worth millions. The user had been teasing his identity for over a month, which was finally revealed when Snoop tweeted out a simple “I am CozomoMedici.”
