On top of this though, he also faces charges that come from questionable crypto promotions which he allegedly saw millions worth of profits.
Even though he is currently in prison in Spain, he seemingly still has access to social media on his phone and gave his thoughts on the recent announcement from PayPal in that it is entering the crypto space in 2021. Speaking to CT he said:
“PayPal's acceptance of cryptocurrency signals, I believe, a new wave of cryptocurrency acceptance worldwide. Governments around the world will have to get used to cryptocurrencies.”
One of the main things that John is known for in the crypto space is his unprecedented prediction that the leading crypto currency would hit $1 million by the end of this year. He made a comment in 2017 but he took back his words in July 2020 and when he was asked what he had changed his mind on the leading asset, he said:
“Too many people are using crypto as a way to get rich quick rather than its original intent, which is for buying and selling transactions… We will see very soon a new movement into using cryptocurrencies as transactions rather than as get rich quick schemes. This is why I developed the private $GHOST stablecoin.”
Following his arrest in Spain, John posted numerous updates on his Twitter page. It will be interesting to see where it goes as he was arrested on tax evasion charges of eating the authorities in the United States for quite some time before being caught.
John has been very vocal on politics in the United States as well as his experience in prison on Twitter as well as he said:
