McAfee hits back at people who believed his $1m BTC prediction: Who could believe such nonsense?!
  • John McAfee gave a price prediction for the leading cryptocurrency awhile ago saying that it would reach $1 million by the end of 2020.
  • Now that we are halfway through the year, John seems to be moving away from the prediction.

The well-known computer programmer and bitcoin advocate, John McAfee gave a price prediction for the leading cryptocurrency awhile ago saying that it would reach $1 million by the end of 2020. Now that we are halfway through the year, John seems to be moving away from the prediction.

As he gave the wild prediction, he said that if it did not hit the $1 million price mark by the end of this year he would eat his own… private parts…

Since he made the prediction back in 2018, the technology guru has been confident in bitcoin hitting $1 million by the end of 2020. Come January this year though, John made it clear that it was all a trick from the start in order to get more people into the crypto world. Taking to Twitter over the weekend on the 30th of May, McAfee joked about his own prediction saying that enthusiasts in the industry should have noticed how absurd the initial claim in his prediction was.

Even though McAfee has denounced bitcoin, he has not completely left the crypto space. He is backing privacy orientated Monero coins and even announced his own anonymous coin known as GHOST.

But will bitcoin ever reach $1 million? The likelihood of the leading cryptocurrency hitting such a great milestone is unlikely to say the least. Whereas if the coin was ever to reach this height, it would be a great thing for the industry as well as virtual finances, you have to wonder as to where it will take the industry following such a feat.

It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out. For more news on this and other crypto updates, keep it with CryptoDaily!
