It was recently announced by Cardano that they are getting ready to roll out the reboot of Byron. This is thanks to the accelerated process of development. The Byron reboot is set to be one of the biggest milestones for the blockchain with its integration being perhaps one of the most important things the team has had to work with to date.

Tim Harrison, the marketing and communications director at the company made the announcement through a video on YouTube. He stated that the software was ready for deployment and added that it has taken the development team at IOHK for around 18 months to recreate Byron. In his view, Byron is the future of the Cardano blockchain.

Harrison noted that the main reason for development taking such a long time was the decision to re-write the whole of the Bryon era. A bottom-up approach was adopted by the team which meant writing completely new code through an evidence-based approach to software development. Furthermore, Harrison added that this move was quite good as it gave the team leeway in being able to build the software without being constrained by the limits of the current version of Byron.

Building Byron from scratch gave the team the ability to layout vision for the protocol and as a result, create functional code that meant to the underline specifications. Harrison gave his directions about the Nextep‘s following the completion of Byron. He said the following:

“The Byron Reboot contains the foundational code on which the Shelley era of the mainnet will be deployed. It is the beginning of the transition of the entire mainnet Cardano codebase and the features that Shelley will bring – like staking, delegation and, of course, decentralization.“

It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out. For more news on this, the ADA Price and other crypto updates, keep it with CryptoDaily!
