Is 2020 the Year of Blockchain?
  • We’ve seen bitcoin hit $20k and we’ve seen slump to lows of last December
  • For blockchain though, there is a hope that over time, entire industries will be using the same blockchain to help firms connected as well as business transactions.

What a year it has been for blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.

There’s been ups and downs but on the whole, it’s sure as hell been an interesting year.

It is likely that you have read different predictions for the year ahead, and you might be in the process of deciding which coins you will watch closely as 2020, and the next decade, takes off.

Hopefully, we’ll see plenty of price surges and new developments going on in the space but of we know cryptocurrency (and we do) there’s bound to be some bumps on the way.

Blockchain tech is a pretty new entity and loads of companies are getting involved with it now but the roaring ’20s could be the decade to really see it reach the stars.

In reality, we have only just started to understand what this technology could mean for the world, nevermind crypto.

We’ve seen bitcoin hit $20k and we’ve seen slump to lows of last December when it eventually plummeted to its low of $3.5k. Earlier this year, the leading cryptocurrency was priced at $13k before ultimately slumping back below the $10k range. How Bitcoin will fair in the future remains to be seen but we’re expecting big things from the leading cryptocurrency over the next 12 months.

The rise in the price of cryptocurrencies has been often accompanied by an increase of general interest by big institutional investors. At the end of 2017, we saw a lot more people enter the market who probably never even heard of cryptocurrency and get involved with the space.

For blockchain though, there is a hope that over time, entire industries will be using the same blockchain to help firms connected as well as business transactions.

Over the next ten years, we can expect to see blockchain adoption reach bigger highs and further adoption as mainstream firms get on board with the emerging technology.
