Satoshi Games Paving The Way For Blockchain Gaming

Last year saw the crypto gaming industry hit new highs as it generated over $130 billion in revenue. This is a huge number which is 13 percent more than in 2017.

Video games cost a lot of money to make but the profits they see are, in most cases, phenomenal. So yeah, video games are a big business but even though there is money to be made in this industry, we can’t help but wonder where it’s going?

New generation consoles are getting released every decade which will rake in a lot of cash for Sony and Microsoft for gamers who want to play the latest releases. A few years ago, news surfaced that the future of gaming was in virtual reality and then augmented reality. Whereas VR isn’t what everyone thought it would be, it is only a matter of time before it becomes the norm.

Although, what if the real future of gaming is getting paid to play instead of paying to play.

What does the future hold

This topic comes from Sam Bocetta who wrote an article for BTC Manager and goes on to say that observers commonly see the advent of emerging technology in the gaming space. When it comes to blockchain gaming, the first game that came into existence was CryptoKitties. This was a simple concept which was built on the Ethereum platform and allowed players to buy, breed and sell virtual kittens.

This was a craze that left some of the cat's worth hundreds of thousands of dollars in Bitcoin and Ethereum.

There are hundreds of games in development that have got crypto involved in them but it seems that the creator of Bitcoin is leading the pack.

Satoshi

“An introduction to Satoshi’s Games may be as curious and straightforward as Satoshi’s Place, hosted on the Bitcoin Lightning Network. This is a collaborative game modeled after The Reddit Place. The interface is comprised of millions of pixels, which can be purchased and altered by the owner.” There isn’t a limit to how many times the pixels can be covered and it is an ongoing work in progress that shows in a tangible way how blockchain technology works.

If you are into gaming and advanced technology then crypto gaming is right for you. Even those that aren’t on the cutting edge of gaming tech will see the slick, smooth effectiveness about the currency of the future while enjoying some retro gaming simultnaesly.
