Nodle Joins Forces with Mystery Painter and AI Artist for Decentralization NFT Drop

​​Nodle to airdrop exclusive AI generated NFTs, based on a secret artist's work, to reward 10,000 wallets that commit the highest amount of DOTs to their Polkadot Parachain Crowdloan.

San Francisco, December 10, 2021 — Nodle, one of the world’s largest decentralized wireless (DeWi) ecosystems, today announced an exclusive collaboration to create 10,000 AI-generated NFTs inspired by the Matrix film’s blue and red pill. These NFTs are a reward to the 10,000 highest contributors that commit their Polkadot DOTs for Nodle’s parachain slot auction and crowdloan, starting on December 10th. The original art was created by a contemporary painter with a long history of exploring technology. Specifically, the artist investigates humanity’s relationship with machines, refining this viewpoint through artist residencies at top robotics companies and Fortune 50 technology firms. Their art was then transferred to leading artificial intelligence (AI) researcher Romain Paulus, who put the works through automated algorithms to create 10,000 unique, finished pieces. “My paintings blur the analog and mechanical reality we exist in by employing fine art painting to express contemporary muses: technology, robotics, and human’s coexistence with an increasingly automated society,” said the mystery artist, a NYC-based painter. “Like any of my mechanized stimuli, the Matrix changed how I look at computerized aesthetics existing in the world. Infusing in these visual cues with Nodle’s determination to decentralize Web 3.0 ownership, obtaining optical randomness at the behest of artificial intelligence, and then minting an art series via NFT mechanisms exemplifies the kind of ecotonal exploration that fuels my work.”

While the painter’s art formed the style for the NFTs, AI researcher and artist Romain Paulus put the visuals through multiple treatments—including proprietary algorithms and code structure—to mint 10,000 fully distinct finished works. Starting with base images: red and blue pills as well as Web 3.0 words. Paulus then processed these elements through an automated script which combines rule-based manual transfers and AI styling. The first AI style transfer created distinct positioning of the base images, and was used a second time to infuse textural components from the artist's work. After going through more pretrained models, Paulus then used his own code to fine-tune the final image colors and details before minting an NFT. “In the spirit of our artists ‘man-meets-machine-muse,’ I worked beyond fully automated style transfer and included manual process throughout so the artist's hand still dictated the final output,” said Paulus. “While laborious, these added steps created artistic refinement and directed the AI to stay within the realm of the desired results.”
