Gold Town Games will leverage Vorto Gaming’s Vorto Network to release a new sports management game with an in-game digital trading platform for buying, selling, and trading game assets.
New Game Exploring The Use Of In-Game NFTs
Mobile gaming company Gold Town Games (GTG) has signed a partnership agreement with Vorto Gaming, a Swedish blockchain gaming company, to introduce in-game NFTs for its existing and upcoming game releases.
Gold Town Games intends to capitalize on the lucrative sports manager genre with a mobile-first approach. As per the agreement, Gold Town Games’ development platform, W3XM, will utilize Vorto Network, the blockchain-based gaming infrastructure, for managing digital assets for all existing and upcoming games that it develops and operates.
According to Gold Town Games CEO Pär Hultgren, “We know that we have a strong offer with our gaming platform W3XM, but it is of course very exciting to partner with Vorto Gaming at an early stage.”
Vorto Network serves as the trading platform for game players connected to the network. It offers players a digital wallet to store in-game assets and digital currencies, making it easy for them to buy, sell, and trade from a unified platform.
Beyond the trading platform and wallet, Vorto Network offers all the tools required to integrate third-party games onto the platform, making it a useful option for developers. With this partnership, GTG can integrate NFTs in its existing games connected to W3XM and use Vorto Network’s marketplace platform to facilitate in-game asset trading.
Kris Vaivods, CEO of Vorto Gaming, commented, “We are super excited to see what the partnership with Gold Town Games can produce. They’re an extremely experienced and talented studio who have large amounts of potential that we hope to realise and release using the technology provided through Vorto Gaming.”
Matching Increased Demand For Sports Gaming NFTs
Amid the rising demand for blockchain-based games, the use of NFTs and other digital assets in gaming is accelerating at an unprecedented rate. For instance, a one-of-a-kind trading card of football star Cristiano Ronaldo recently sold for a staggering $290,000 in a game with NFT functionality.
Gold Town Games develop sports management games aligned with current trends in the gaming industry, which allows them to explore the use of NFTs and blockchain to attract a broader and bigger audience. GTG already has a portfolio of titles, such as the World Hockey Manager and World Football Manager, which have a massive fan following and feature more than 1.5 million downloads.
Per Lars Alin, Product Manager at Gold Town Games, “I have followed the development of NFT-based games with great curiosity and we’re confident that a platform for manager games such as W3XM has all the prerequisites to take games with NFT functionality to the next level. Our vision is to be a global leader in sport manager games for mobile platforms.”
The partnership, which adds value for both parties, enables Gold Town Games to leverage Vorto Gaming’s infrastructure. Concurrently, Vorto Gaming can benefit from Gold Town Games’ popularity and global outreach to expand its technological footprint.
