Not long after the CFTC (Commodities futures trading commission) filed a lawsuit charging the BitMEX exchange for violating money-laundering laws within the United States, the exchange lost around 40,000 bitcoins in rushed withdrawals from its user base.

Constant updates have been shared by the on-chain analysis company Glassnode following the announcement against the platform. The updates indicated a big increase in the outflow bitcoins from the exchange following the charges.

Since the announcement that the exchange would be being charged by the trading commission, the community has been talking about it non-stop. It will make space the first and biggest crypto platform to face the CFTC in court over allegations of criminal activity and according to the latest update from Glassnode, 40,000 bitcoins have been left BitMEX just 24 hours following the announcement.

“#Bitcoin outflows from BitMEX addresses continue- our data shows that in the past hour 7.200 BTC were withdrawn. The total amount pulled from the exchange over the past day is now nearly 40,000 $BTC.”
