As the situation between Iran and the United States gets more and more intense, the story of Bitcoin becoming a safe haven asset becomes more and more known throughout the space. Even though you’d be hearing negative things from Peter Schiff during this time, the founder of the US Digital Chamber of Commerce, Perianne Boring has said that this isn’t the first time the leading cryptocurrency has seen surges during an international conflict such as the US-Iran situation.

Speaking in a new interview with BlockTV, Boring talked about the Cypriot financial crisis - which occurred in 2013. For those that don’t know, this was a time when Bitcoin experienced a 99-day rally from the bulls. She went onto say:

“This is a testament to the purpose of this technology. This is proof that bitcoin can serve as an alternative to the government-sponsored medium of exchange. and that there are other alternatives people can opt for.”

Boring further went onto comment on the 2020 priorities report from the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The Founder of the US Digital Chamber of Commerce said that the SEC has put in a staggering amount of resources into the crypto space, further adding that it itself is actually a positive thing.

She further cited:

“The bigger issue is that its 2020 already, and we still don’t have binding guidance on clarification of digital assets.”

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. For more news on this and other crypto updates, keep it with CryptoDaily!
