Bitcoin has just made it to the front page of TikTok, the popular video-sharing social networking service owned by ByteDance.

Viral sensation

A bitcoin video on TikTok went viral for the first time at the end of last week. This comes after mentions of Bitcoin by numerous high-profile investors, as well as many other firms.

The video was shared around by the cryptocurrency businessman, Thomas Schulz which showed a massive utility room filled to the brim with mining equipment. The caption for the video was “this is why GPU prices went up.”

Even though this wasn’t Schulz’s own video (as he clarified), it’s still an impressive feat. Still, I’d hate to be the person who pays the bills in that house…

The Rise of Crypto

The rise in the price of cryptocurrencies has been often accompanied by an increase of general interest by big institutional investors. At the end of 2017, we saw a lot more people enter the market who probably never even heard of cryptocurrency and get involved with the space.

Bill Pulte of Pulte Group, has said that digital assets like Bitcoin can help those who need it throughout the world by providing a decentralized network.

Pulte said:

“Cryptocurrency can help the world’s poorest…especially those who are ‘unbanked’… as a philanthropist, I therefore want to promote adoption. Leave comment why you need Bitcoin and I’ll pick one person to send some satoshis to. Yes this is real.”

It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out. For more news on this and other crypto updates, keep it with CryptoDaily!
