How Cryptocurrency is Saving the Careers of Thousands of Adult Entertainers

The leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin has just been crowned as the saviour to a new payment crisis which is having a big impact on the adult entertainment website Pornhub. 

On November 14th, Pornhub posted in a blog that the international payment processor PayPal had unexpectedly stopped its service for all of its performers.

The blog post reads:

“We are all devastated by PayPal's decision to stop payouts to over a hundred thousand performers who rely on them for their livelihoods.”

Before PayPal was stopped for the models, they would all have received payouts via the payment protocol.

As per CoinTelegraph:

“Pornhub is now using direct funds transfer alternatives, which models must set up themselves. The website began a deal with cryptocurrency project Verge (XVG) last year, while users can purchase products with various cryptocurrencies via Pornhub’s partnership with merchant gateway PumaPay.”

While most of the models/performers that are active on PornHub, won’t be aware of crypto, one of them has a good understanding of what it can do. She doesn’t have exactly much knowledge on the technology itself just the end result that benefits her!

A prominent model on the site, Shyla Jennings posted this on Twitter after the PayPal news broke:

“Crypto, personal portal... LOL. I don’t understand what that even is. I’m cool with just direct deposit into my bank account.”
