Antonopoulos is Now Encouraging Stores to Accept Bitcoin!

An ice cream shop in Berlin has revealed that a “super nice” guy urged them to spearhead Bitcoin adoption with the local crowd whilst out for lunch.

Funnily enough that unknown “super nice” guy turned out to be the legendary Bitcoin figurehead, Andreas Antonopoulos!

Spreading the word

It all began in a local burger bar.

“We started accepting Bitcoin in June of this year. At Room 77  I met a guy who was super nice & explained to me all the basics about Bitcoin & got me interested in getting BTC myself instead of using BitPay & receiving euros. The next day I found out he was Andreas Antonopoulos.”

This all comes from a stretch of tweets from @ChipiChipiBmbn on Twitter, the Ice cream joint in Germany.

The thread goes onto highlight that paving the way toward crypto adoption started with getting a Trezor hardware wallet for cold storage and then going onto directly accept Bitcoin through the open-source payment processor BTCPay Server. 

Some weeks later we started to accept lightning payments and even took part in the @LNconf selling ice cream and hot chocolate. 3/6

Ever since he was exposed, Antonopoulos took to Twitter to say the following:

“You took the effort to fully understand cryptocurrency and the implications of how you could better run your business with it. More small businesses need to do exactly this. Amazing.”
