EOS & Bitfinex Included in Block Producers for Ultra.io

Ultra.io, the blockchain-based platform PC games distribution platform recently announced this week that its first three block producers (BPs) are Bitfinex, EOS Rio and EOS New York.

All three future network maintainers are EOS BPs while Bitfinex is also a major and well-known cryptocurrency exchange.

The announcement states that the three bodies will help Ultra optimise its blockchain and will allow the company to launch is public testnet followed by the mainnet.

The startup has said that its platform allows for a higher degree in fairness the industry of gaming by enjoying “programmable and instant money, tradability of games and in-game assets with” non-fungible tokens. 

Ultra.io’s chief technology officer Michael Dunn added:

“When considering how best to launch and support Ultra mainnet, we sought out a mix of trusted technical partners from within the EOSIO community and established corporate partners from the technology and video-games industries to work with us as block producers. Our initial technical block producers have worked with us on our chain design, development and performance. We value their trust, expertise and ongoing support.”

The firm went onto highlight that as well as helping blockchain optimisation, the three technical block producers would also provide their expertise on corporate recruitment.

Finally, later down the road, Ultra has promised to reveal further block producers which are global “trusted companies outside of the crypto world.”

The rise in the price of cryptocurrencies has been often accompanied by an increase of general interest by big institutional investors. At the end of 2017, we saw a lot more people enter the market who probably never even heard of cryptocurrency and get involved with the space.
