‘Bitcoin Is Merely The First Manifestation Of Blockchain’

There are many well known quotes from prolific figures within the cryptocurrency industry, quotes that have sent ‘ripples’ through the community in the past. Though things have changed since people first started talking about Bitcoin, many of these quotes still ring true today. Bitcoin is a force that is changing the world, let’s take a look at what people are still saying about it.

Mark Kenigsburg, the founder of Bitcoin Chaser famously said:

“Blockchain is the tech. Bitcoin is merely the first mainstream manifestation of its potential.”

This is true, right? Blockchain is the driving force behind all of this, an entire industry. Bitcoin was the very first example of what blockchain technology can do, it’s a true manifestation of a technology that not only creates its own money, it’s a technology that has created a cultural movement and a technological revolution.

Richard Branson, the mogul behind the Virgin brand has also commented on Bitcoin in the past:

“Well, I think it is working. There may be other currencies like it that may be even better. But in the meantime, there’s a big industry around Bitcoin. — People have made fortunes off Bitcoin, some have lost money. It is volatile, but people make money off of volatility too.”

Branson issues a very common warning, though he believes that there is a clear future laid out for Bitcoin. People are making money off it and when people make money, they succeed. Bitcoin will grow off the back of this success. What Branson see’s is a world that is ready for Bitcoin adoption, now it’s just a matter of time before this vision finally comes true.

Most famously, Peter Thiel, a Co-founder of PayPal once gave Bitcoin one of the biggest compliments the currency has received to date, admitting that Satoshi Nakamoto, Bitcoins alleged creator has done more with Bitcoin than PayPal could ever do:

“PayPal had these goals of creating a new currency. We failed at that, and we just created a new payment system. I think Bitcoin has succeeded on the level of a new currency, but the payment system is somewhat lacking. It’s very hard to use, and that’s the big challenge on the Bitcoin side.”

Bitcoin has created a new currency and a new movement, backed by a technological revolution. Though like Thiel states, the payment systems within Bitcoin aren’t ready for the mainstream, Bitcoin itself is ready to adopt a more ‘PayPal like’ payment system in the future.
