Buterin Takes To Twitter To Comment On XRP

Of one of the biggest cryptocurrencies in the space, Ethereum recently saw its co-founder, Vitalik Buterin take to Twitter to big up Ripple’s native token XRP and said that it’s better sound money than the leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin.

You may have heard already but on Sunday, Buterin took to Twitter to speak his mind on XRP. If you didn’t get a chance to see the tweets, here is a quick recap.

When it came to giving his views on Ripple’s native token, Buterin was speaking in response to Pierre Rochard’s research on BItcoin’s value where he sums up Bitcoin as the “ideal stablecoin” and summarised it as “peak sound money”.

In response to this, Buterin said:

Rochard uploaded a graph in which he shows the price of Bitcoin in comparison to Bitcoin itself and so the graph is just a flat line that is worth 1 Bitcoin at all times.

In response to this, Buterin said that he believes Rochard wanted to use the XRP graphic instead saying that the XRP graph would look the same but it is also sound money.

On top of this, he mentioned that XRP has been adopted by numerous organisation and institutions and signed several partnerships with banks around the world.

Both Ripple and XRP are very popular entities that have increased media attention which is mainly down to their achievements, plans and partnerships.

In the end, the main goal for Ripple is to beat the SWIFT protocol which has been the traditional payments system adopted by banks and financial institutions for decades. When it comes to SWIFT though, it’s pretty old and it has problems in regards to the speed of transactions, costs and so on. Such issues are keeping Ripple fighting on to provide users with cheap and secure transactions, not to mention the speed of them too.
