What Sets UNUS SED LEO Apart?

The token burn mechanism signifies iFinex's dedication to repurchasing UNUS SED LEO from the market each month. The amount they buy back and destroy is at least 27% of iFinex’s generated revenue, with tokens bought at the prevailing market price. In a statement, iFinex mentioned: “This burn process will persist until all tokens have been completely redeemed.”

Unlike many cryptocurrencies that are introduced on just one blockchain, LEO tokens were distributed across two. About 64% of the initial supply was on Ethereum, while the other 36% was released on EOS.

How Many UNUS SED LEO (LEO) Coins Are There Circulating?

As previously noted, the supply of LEO tokens in circulation is intended to decrease over time. Initially, the total supply was capped at 1 billion.

LEO tokens were sold at a 1:1 ratio with the Tether stablecoin, each priced at $1, resulting in a total of $1 billion being raised in just 10 days.

At launch, there were 660 million ERC-20 tokens and 340 million EOS-based tokens available, with Bitfinex facilitating seamless conversions between these two platforms.

At the launch, the company hailed this dual protocol approach as “unique” and promised that it would strengthen the Bitfinex community.
