Plasma Finance is a cross-chain DeFi aggregator designed to simplify portfolio management through a single, user-friendly interface. Users can easily access the dashboard using any Web 3.0 wallet.
If you're interested in a deeper understanding of this project, take a look at our comprehensive exploration of Plasma Finance.
Describing itself as the hub for DeFi, Plasma Finance integrates popular DeFi protocols into one accessible location. The platform was developed with the aim of democratizing the DeFi ecosystem, lowering entry barriers, and making it accessible to all users. The team's vision is to offer solutions that cater to both novices and seasoned participants alike.
The developers strive to create an intuitive and straightforward dashboard that provides universal access to top DeFi tools, thereby bringing cryptocurrencies closer to the general public. Plasma Finance serves as a link between traditional finance and decentralized markets, offering a variety of advanced tools with leading UX design. It also simplifies the process of connecting fiat on-ramps and off-ramps for users, enabling actions like sending, exchanging, and requesting payments, as well as depositing and withdrawing digital assets with a single click.
Who Are the People Behind Plasma Finance?
The journey of Plasma Finance began with the creation of PlasmaPay — a non-custodial crypto wallet available on both desktop and mobile platforms, featuring global on- and off-ramps capabilities. Founded in June 2017 by Ilia Maksimenka, PlasmaPay has evolved into a global payment and transfer service operating in over 160 countries, offering crypto and fiat wallets, on/off ramps, and DeFi services and infrastructure for both personal and business use. The Plasma Alliance encompasses PlasmaPay, Plasma Finance, and PlasmaDLT — the Plasma Blockchain.
Ilia Maksimenka serves as CEO of both PlasmaPay and Plasma Finance. He holds a Master's degree in economics from Plekhanov Russian University of Economics and an MBA from McGill University. Before founding PlasmaPay, Maksimenka led International Business Development at Coursmos, an open educational platform. His background includes roles in corporate finance, stock exchanges, and fintech, as well as positions such as a technical analyst for the government and a fund manager at a private investment bank. Between 2010 and 2016, he launched several startups in the finance and AI sectors. Maksimenka has been active in the cryptocurrency field since 2013, focusing on the development of financial infrastructures, product innovation, and business expansion.
What Distinguishes Plasma Finance (PPAY)?
The core mission of Plasma Finance's developers is straightforward: to make decentralized finance accessible to everyone, empowering individuals with financial autonomy through DeFi. By aggregating well-known protocols, Plasma Finance offers a comprehensive suite of tools that are approachable for the average user yet sophisticated enough for institutional investors. The project is committed to balancing the scales between large financial institutions and individual users by advocating for decentralized, transparent, censorship-resistant, and accessible financial services.
The ambitious aim of the project is summed up as "DeFi for the masses." The developers intend to demonstrate that utilizing DeFi with Plasma Finance is not only easy and convenient but also safe and straightforward.
The platform's dashboard includes all the essential DeFi tools: portfolio management, fiat on/off ramps, liquidity pools, a dex and swap aggregator, as well as lending and borrowing options. Users can conveniently purchase tokens via card or bank account thanks to the fiat ramps. Furthermore, the platform curates some of the best profitability strategies by integrating all DeFi assets, liquidity pools, and savings opportunities, allowing users to quickly evaluate and choose the best options.
To streamline processes and save time, the dashboard also features automated calculations for APY and P&L. In addition, users can select their ROI from over a hundred cross-chain liquidity pools, including Ethereum, Binance, and Plasma, available on the platform.
Additionally, Plasma Finance launched SpacePort in June 2021 — an open, democratized IDO launchpad built on the PlasmaSwap DEX. This aligns with their vision of providing projects of any size and structure equal opportunities for open, transparent, and fair crowdfunding on DeFi. Plasma Finance also supports their Launchpad Alliance, which offers insights into popular IDO platforms like PAID Ignition, DuckSTARTER, Polkastarter, Poolz, and DAO Maker.
In summary, Plasma Finance offers features such as swap, cross-chain swap, savings accounts, liquidity pools, market analysis, governance, portfolio management, onboarding, borrowing, and launchpad services. As of July 2021, Plasma Finance supports leading protocols such as Plasma Swap, Uniswap, Sushiswap, YFI, Balancer, Bancor, and Curve.
How Many Plasma Finance (PPAY) Tokens Are Available?
PPAY, an ERC20 token, functions as the native utility token within the Plasma Finance ecosystem. It serves as a reward and commission token in PPAY pools and PlasmaSwap. PPAY holders can engage in the voting system (1 PPAY = 1 vote), stake tokens, earn rewards, make in-app purchases within PlasmaPay, conduct asset trading across blockchains, and more.
The total supply is capped at 1,000,000,000 PPAY. Token distribution is allocated as follows: 52.5% to the community (locked for liquidity mining), 6.5% to equity holders, 5% to reserves, 5% to the seed round, 17.5% to private rounds 1 & 2, 1% to dex listing, 10% to team options, and 2.5% to the advisory pool. Full distribution is expected to complete by the end of 2022.
Plasma Finance connects users to the platform via six wallets: PlasmaPay Wallet, MetaMask, WalletConnect, Coinbase Wallet, Trust Wallet, and Crypto.com. Users can acquire PPAY tokens through two methods: Ethereum wallets and swaps. In Plasma Finance, users have the option to add liquidity to an existing pool or create new ones.
How Is the Plasma Finance Network Secured?
Plasma Finance (PPAY) operates on Ethereum, utilizing smart contracts — programs running on the Ethereum blockchain — which ensure transparency, security, and irreversibility in transactions and agreements among anonymous parties. These smart contracts enable safe exchanges of money, documents, and other workflows, maintaining an environment of trust and accountability.
Where Can Plasma Finance (PPAY) Be Purchased?
Plasma Finance (PPAY) is available on various cryptocurrency exchanges, though it cannot be directly bought with fiat currency. To obtain PPAY, buy Bitcoin through any fiat-to-crypto exchange, then transfer it to an exchange where PPAY is offered. Some of these platforms include Uniswap (V2), Bittrex, Bithumb Global, PlasmaSwap, Hotbit, Bilaxy, Hoo, 1inch Exchange, and CoinBene.
