POL Rejection at $0.10 Strengthens Case for a Drop to $0.08 as ARB Bounces

POL Rejection at $0.10 Strengthens Case for a Drop to $0.08 as ARB Bounces

Three Things to Know

  • Arbitrum's Security Council froze funds from the Binance exploit, and Binance now wants the DAO to hand them back.
  • ARB keeps stalling at its 50-day average while POL sits under both of its key averages in a seller-led trend.
  • For POL, the floor just below $0.09 decides whether the slide deepens.

Arbitrum faces a long governance fight after its Security Council froze ETH and ARB held by an address linked to the Binance exploit. Binance has asked the DAO to return the assets, and the vote could run for weeks.

The dispute lands as Arbitrum adds stablecoins, apps and Robinhood Chain activity. POL has no such catalyst and keeps losing ground. Traders now want to know whether ARB's bounce can hold while POL's sellers press lower.

Arbitrum Freezes Exploit Funds While Its Ecosystem Keeps Growing

The Arbitrum Security Council used its emergency powers on Oct 30 to freeze the exploit funds. The action locked 8,425 ETH and 74,559,805.2 ARB held on Arbitrum One by an address linked to the attack. The council made a temporary upgrade to the Ethereum Inbox contract to do it, and no other users or apps were affected.

The frozen assets now sit in a holding address. Moving them requires a vote by the Arbitrum DAO. Binance asked the DAO on Nov 5 to return the funds, and the vote process is expected to take about seven weeks.

Arbitrum's ecosystem kept expanding around the dispute. Paxos' Global Dollar (USDG) went live on Arbitrum One on Oct 6, with Morpho, Uniswap, GMX, Kraken and Maple Finance integrating it. The Arbitrum Foundation then opened a 2 million ARB stablecoin program. It offers up to 200,000 ARB to each of the first ten teams that hold a $10M average USDG balance over 30 days.

Robinhood Chain, built on Arbitrum technology, passed $1.07 billion in total value locked on Nov 4.

The freeze shows Arbitrum governance can move quickly in a crisis. It also raises fair questions about how decentralized the network really is.

ARB Holds Above Its Long Average but Stalls at the 50-Day

ARB traded near $0.17 at last check, flat on the day. The token is up about 2% over the week but still down roughly 11% over the past month. Buyers have stopped the slide but have not yet undone it.

Price sits almost exactly on the 50-day moving average. That line tracks the average close over roughly ten weeks, and ARB keeps stalling right at it. Until the token closes clearly above it, the 50-day acts as a ceiling for short-term traders.

The longer picture looks firmer. ARB holds above its 200-day average, which runs near $0.15. As long as price stays over that line, the broader trend still leans up. The ecosystem news gives holders a reason to defend it.

Momentum readings point the same cautious way. RSI, a 0 to 100 gauge of buying and selling pressure, reads 47. That is neutral territory, with neither buyers nor sellers in control. Momentum has started to turn up, but trend strength remains weak, so no clear direction has formed yet.

On the daily chart, the range is easy to read. Nearest support sits in the same zone as the 200-day average. That overlap makes it the level buyers most need to hold. A break below it would expose the next floor near $0.13.

Resistance stands near $0.19. A daily close above that mark would end the stall and open room toward the next level around $0.21. Until then, ARB is likely to keep trading between those two nearest lines.

Sellers Keep POL Pinned Below $0.10

POL tells a weaker story. The token traded near $0.092, down about 3% on the week and roughly 10% over the past month. Unlike ARB, it has no fresh ecosystem news to lean on.

Price sits below both of its key averages. The 50-day runs near $0.096, with the 200-day just above it. Both lines now act as ceilings stacked just overhead. The trend gauge confirms a real downtrend, and sellers are the ones leading it.

RSI reads 47, the same neutral level as ARB. Momentum has also turned up a little. On ARB that hints at a base forming above the long average. On POL it looks more like a breather inside a falling market.

Buyers tried to push higher and failed near $0.10, the second resistance level. The nearest ceiling sits around $0.097, just under the 50-day line. Clearing both would take a strong session that the chart does not yet show.

On the daily chart, support near $0.087 is the level that matters most. Holding it keeps POL in a tight range. A daily close below it would likely send the token toward the next floor near $0.079.

Which Levels Decide the Next Three Days

The next three days come down to a few lines already marked on the daily charts.

  • Bullish: ARB closes above its nearest resistance and POL reclaims the ceiling just under its 50-day line. That pair of moves would show buyers taking control in both tokens. The setup fails if ARB loses its support zone at the 200-day average.
  • Bearish: POL breaks its nearest support and slides toward the lower floor. Sellers would then extend the downtrend they already lead. The setup fails if POL closes back above the level where buyers were rejected.

News Supports ARB More Than Price Does

ARB looks like the steadier token of the two. Its ecosystem keeps adding users and stablecoins, and price still rests above its long-term average. POL remains the weaker chart, with sellers in charge and the path of least resistance pointing lower.

One risk hangs over ARB. The DAO vote on the frozen exploit funds could stir sharp swings while it runs.
