Can LTC Hold $47 as XLM Slips Below $0.16 Ahead of the Nov. 23 Bell Vote?

Can LTC Hold $47 as XLM Slips Below $0.16 Ahead of the Nov. 23 Bell Vote?

Three Things to Know

  • Stellar validators will vote on activating the Bell upgrade on mainnet later this month, if the date holds.
  • XLM has handed back its post-testnet gain, and sellers still control the daily trend.
  • Litecoin's floor near $47 now looks like the line that decides whether the slide deepens.

Stellar's Bell upgrade passed its testnet vote earlier this month, and validators now decide on mainnet activation. The upgrade adds new smart contract features, but traders have kept their wagers small.

That caution matters because XLM and Litecoin are both sliding, with sellers in charge on the daily charts. Traders want to know whether either coin can find buyers at support before the vote. So far, a quiet market is letting the drop run.

Stellar Validators Face a Bell Vote Traders Are Not Betting On

Stellar's Bell upgrade, also called Protocol 30, cleared its testnet vote on Nov 3. Validators now vote on mainnet activation on Nov 23. That date could still move, and Bell goes live only if validators approve it.

The upgrade brings three changes. Smart contracts will be able to tell payments for different customers apart. Contracts will also be able to check post-quantum signatures, although the network's own signatures stay the same. Ledger timing switches to milliseconds, which does not make blocks any faster on its own.

Wallets, exchanges and node operators need to update their software before activation. Ordinary holders face no migration and do not need to act.

Derivatives traders are keeping their bets small. XLM open interest, the value of open futures positions, fell from about $94 million to $88 million during the recent slide. It has since recovered only to $89.5 million. Funding sits barely positive at 0.0011%, so long traders are paying almost nothing to hold their positions. That points to little appetite for a big wager on the vote.

XLM Gives Back the Upgrade Pop and Drifts Toward $0.14

XLM jumped to about $0.171 on Nov 4, a day after the testnet vote. The gain did not last. Sellers stepped in the next afternoon, and the token has since slipped below $0.16, the level traders have been watching most closely.

Stellar now trades near $0.15, flat over the past day. It is down about 10% for the week and roughly 24% for the month. The upgrade news gave the token a short lift, but buyers have not followed through.

The broader trend points the same way. XLM sits below its 50-day average near $0.18. It also trades under its 200-day average, which sits higher. Moving averages smooth out daily swings to show the underlying direction. With price under both, those lines act as ceilings, and any bounce is likely to meet selling there.

RSI, a 0 to 100 gauge of momentum, reads 33. That is weak but still above the oversold zone below 30, so sellers have room to push further before the move looks stretched. Momentum indicators still point down, and trend strength readings show a real trend with sellers in charge.

On the daily chart, the nearest support sits around $0.14. A break there would open the way toward $0.11, a much deeper floor. Holders would want to see buyers defend the first level before the vote.

Resistance starts near $0.17, close to the Nov 4 high. Reclaiming that zone would be the first sign the picture is changing. Above it, the next ceiling sits near $0.19, where the 200-day average also lies.

For now, XLM is drifting toward support with the vote still ahead. Traders seem content to wait for the result before placing bigger bets in either direction.

$46.95 Becomes the Floor Litecoin Must Defend

Litecoin trades near $52.33, flat on the day. The coin is down about 6% for the week and roughly 21% for the month. The coin has no upgrade vote of its own, yet it is following the same weak path as Stellar.

Both key averages sit overhead. The 50-day average stands near $57.79. The 200-day average sits a little lower, near $56.41. That order matters for a recovery. Any rally must first get through the 200-day line, then push past the higher 50-day level before the trend can turn.

RSI reads 37, weak like XLM's but slightly less stretched. Sellers still have room to press before Litecoin looks oversold. Momentum also points down, and trend readings show sellers leading a real trend.

On the daily chart, the nearest floor sits around $46.95. A clean break would expose the next support near $43.39, a drop of roughly another 8%.

Buyers face a ceiling near $55.27 on any bounce. Clearing it would bring the next resistance near $59.66 into view, just above both moving averages. Until price reclaims that zone, the bias stays lower.

What Flips the Script Before the Vote

Two paths stand out before validators vote, and each comes with a level that would cancel it.

  • Bullish: XLM climbs back over the level traders watch, then closes above its first resistance near the Nov 4 high. Litecoin clears its own nearest ceiling at the same time. That would show buyers returning across both coins. A drop back through XLM's nearest support would cancel this view.
  • Bearish: XLM loses its nearest floor and Litecoin breaks its key support, which would expose the deeper levels already mapped. An XLM recovery of its first resistance would cancel this view.

Sellers Keep the Upper Hand for Now

Both coins still trade under their nearest ceilings, and the trend stays with sellers until that changes. For now, the Nov. 23 vote looks more like a test of support than a launchpad.

The risks lean one way. A delayed or rejected Bell vote could speed the slide in XLM and drag sentiment lower. Approval may only bring a short bounce, much like the brief pop after the testnet vote.
