NEXO Token Goes Live on Kraken, Opening Access to One of Crypto’s Most Established Exchanges
The NEXO Token, the native asset of digital assets wealth platform Nexo, is now available to trade on Kraken, one of the longest-standing and most security-focused cryptocurrency exchanges in the world. The two companies confirmed the listing on Thursday, with trading opening at 3:00 PM UTC.
The listing gives the NEXO Token a presence on one of the industry’s most recognized trading venues. It also extends the token’s reach to Kraken’s broad base of retail and professional traders at a time when access to established, well-regulated platforms remains a key factor for investors choosing where to trade.
What traders need to know
Trading is live on both Kraken’s main platform and Kraken Pro, the exchange’s advanced trading interface built for active and professional users. Three trading pairs are available from launch:
-
NEXO/USD
-
NEXO/USDT
-
NEXO/USDC
The combination of a direct US dollar pair and two major stablecoin pairs gives traders flexibility in how they enter and exit positions. Users can trade directly against fiat currency or stay within the stablecoin ecosystem, depending on their strategy and how they manage liquidity.
An access milestone for the NEXO Token
Nexo described the listing as an access milestone for its token. Adding Kraken as a trading venue broadens the market infrastructure around NEXO and gives traders a wider choice of where to buy, sell and hold it.
For tokens tied to established platforms, exchange listings play an important role beyond simple availability. Each additional venue can contribute to deeper liquidity, tighter spreads and better price discovery, as more participants are able to trade the asset across multiple order books. A listing on a major exchange like Kraken also tends to bring visibility among traders who may not already use the issuing platform directly.
Yasen Yankov, Chief Product Officer at Nexo, said the listing reflects the company’s goal of making its token available on trusted, widely used venues.
“Kraken adds another established venue for our native NEXO Token and brings it to a broad base of consumer and professional traders,” Yankov said. “Clients now have yet another established place to trade NEXO, and we are proud to have our token on one of the most respected exchanges in the digital assets space.”
The role of the NEXO Token
The NEXO Token launched in 2018, the same year Nexo began operations. It sits at the center of the company’s loyalty program, which rewards holders with a range of benefits on the Nexo platform.
Those benefits include reduced borrowing rates on crypto-backed loans, fee-free transfers and other advantages tied to how much NEXO a client holds relative to their overall portfolio on the platform. The structure gives the token a defined utility within the Nexo ecosystem, linking it directly to the services the company offers.
With the Kraken listing, users who want exposure to NEXO, whether for platform benefits or as part of a broader trading strategy, now have another major route to acquire it outside of Nexo itself.
Two long-running names in crypto
The listing brings together two companies that have operated through multiple crypto market cycles.
Kraken, founded in 2011, is one of the oldest cryptocurrency exchanges still in operation. Over more than a decade, it has built a reputation centered on security, regulatory engagement and reliability, and it serves a global customer base ranging from first-time buyers to institutional trading desks.
Nexo has operated since 2018 and now serves clients in more than 200 jurisdictions. The company reports that more than $465 billion has been processed across the group since its inception. Its all-in-one platform offers yield on digital assets, crypto-backed loans, trading tools and liquidity solutions, as well as a crypto-backed card available in certain markets. The company positions itself as a premier digital assets wealth platform focused on helping clients grow, manage and preserve their crypto holdings, supported by around-the-clock client care.
What comes next
With trading now open, attention will turn to how NEXO performs across its new pairs on Kraken and how trading volume develops in the days following the listing. Early activity on a new venue is often watched closely by market participants as an indicator of demand and liquidity depth.
For Nexo, the listing marks another step in expanding the market footprint of its native token. For Kraken users, it adds a token with an established track record and clear platform utility to the exchange’s growing list of supported assets.
Traders can access NEXO on Kraken and Kraken Pro now through the NEXO/USD, NEXO/USDT and NEXO/USDC pairs.
