Kraken Becomes an X Cashtag Partner, Adding One-Tap Crypto Trading From Posts

Kraken has become an official U.S. launch partner for X Cashtags, a program that lets users move from a supported ticker on the social platform to a broker or exchange to place a trade. Kraken announced the arrangement on September 16, 2026, saying the new Trade option routes users to its app or website rather than executing orders within X itself.

The rollout places crypto trading links alongside the price charts and public discussion already associated with cashtags on X. For Kraken, the integration is intended to cover nearly 2,500 assets across its centralized and decentralized exchange offerings, according to the company.

Kraken joins X’s five-partner U.S. cashtag rollout

Kraken is one of five initial partners in X’s U.S. Cashtag Partner Program. The other launch partners are Interactive Brokers, Moomoo, Gemini and Coinbase, according to TechCrunch’s coverage of the launch.

The partner list brings both brokerages and crypto platforms into the same ticker-based linkout system. A cashtag is the dollar-sign ticker convention used on X; under the new arrangement, certain supported tickers can surface a trading route after a user has opened the relevant market view.

Kraken described itself as an official U.S. launch partner in its September 16 announcement. The company did not describe X as an order-execution venue. Instead, the social network functions as the place where users encounter a ticker, market information and related conversation before leaving for a partner platform.

That distinction matters for the mechanics of the feature. The order, account access and any new-user registration remain on Kraken’s own service, while X supplies the entry point from a cashtag.

Cashtags route users to Kraken

Tapping a supported cashtag on X shows the user a live price chart and related posts, then offers Kraken as a trading option, according to the company’s description of the integration. The selection redirects to Kraken’s app or website, where existing customers log in and new users can sign up before completing a trade.

X does not execute the transaction. X product engineering lead Mridul Singhai said supported cashtags combine a live chart, related conversation and trading through a brokerage partner, with users redirected to that partner to complete the trade, according to TechCrunch.

The flow keeps the trading destination alongside ticker discussion without turning X and Kraken into a single trading service; Kraken handles login or onboarding and order completion on its own platform.

Nearly 2,500 assets in scope

Kraken said its cashtag integration will support nearly 2,500 assets across its centralized exchange and decentralized exchange offerings.

For users who encounter an eligible cashtag in a post or search context, the sequence is to open the ticker, review X’s chart and related conversation, choose Kraken, and continue on Kraken’s platform to complete a trade.
