My Neighbor Alice (MNA), the open builder game that’s developed a sizable player base since launching three years ago, has announced its new season. It’s also shared details of a token airdrop and a host of upgrades that will enhance gameplay and provide new opportunities for players to interact within the Lummelunda Archipelago where the action unfolds.
My Neighbor Alice Brings the Beta
Poised to commence on September 24, Beta Season 2 of My Neighbor Alice will introduce new quests, new opportunities to earn rewards, and the introduction of social elements that will enhance the playing experience. Regular players will appreciate the release of new quests, levels to explore, and crafting stations, allowing them to do more with their virtual land. The ability to collaborate with fellow players on a single land plot will also bring more SocialFi fun to MNA.
Before the new season kicks off, there are a few other highlights for the Alice community to look forward to, not least a token airdrop amounting to $25K of ALICE starting September 16. The giveaway is part of the build-up to Beta Season 2 and rewards players who take part in certain quests and complete other challenges. The $ALICE Airdrop Party, as it’s known, will run for nine weeks, during which players can chart their progress on the new rewards board as well as earn NFTs and other perks.
Pushing the Boundaries of GameFi
As one of the first web3 games to launch, My Neighbor Alice has had time to refine its gameplay and to learn along the way what works and what could be better implemented to ensure web3 gaming realizes its full potential. Having focused on creating rich gaming experiences that will maximize player retention from day one, rather than relying on unsustainable play-to-earn mechanics, MNA is well positioned within the market today, boasting a loyal player base and highly engaged community.
The start of Beta Season 2 should bring further attention to the game while unlocking new opportunities for players to interact, earn, and explore. Having spent the last three years constantly building, the game’s dev team have already implemented many of the items on their lengthy and ambitious roadmap. The next phase of the game’s evolution will see Alice developers implement features such as a User-Generated Content Tool. This will allow players to produce in-game content, while there are also plans to introduce a decentralized NFT bridge to support trading of in-game assets.
Games such as My Neighbor Alice are trailblazers for showing what can be accomplished when fun, social games are enhanced through web3 features such as tokenization. MNA has leaned towards optimizing the game experience first and foremost, with the view that web3 elements should be there to enhance gameplay rather than become a dominant feature. Thus far, this strategy has been vindicated, with My Neighbor Alice showing thriving signs of life across its archipelago.
