Northern Data Partners With The State of Oklahoma, Data Center Acquisition Also on the Table

The German-founded organization Northern Data AG, a pioneer in the areas of High-Performance Computing, GPU, and ASIC-based solutions, has formed a partnership with Oklahoma in a collaborative effort to advance their vision. The complete information and updates about the strategic partnership that has been set in motion and is still undergoing due diligence are yet to be publicly published. However, it had earlier been explored in an earlier Strategy Presentation published by the company towards the end of September 2021.

Opportunities Galore

The partnership brings forth innumerable opportunities for both Northern Data and Oklahoma, and the negotiations of the collaboration include:

• Northern Data acquiring and deploying more than 100k ASIC systems in North America by the end of the financial year of 2022.

• Northern Data establishes its operations over a data center site in a location that is yet to be disclosed to the public.

• Oklahoma will supply up to 250 MW of power in the data center. The target is to be achieved over a prolonged period. It includes achieving 10 MW by Q2'22, followed by 50 MW in Q4'22, and consequently the targeted total of 250 megawatts by the end of 2024.

• Northern Data also looks forward to 2024 as the tentative date for completion of the development of the buildings on-site through effective and efficient modular buildings designs to enable the operations to begin immediately after.

A household name in the HPC Space

Due to its specialization in custom, large-scale data centers, cutting-edge hardware, and self-developed software for numerous HPC applications such as bitcoin mining, blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, IoT, and graphics rendering, Northern Data is a familiar name in the industry. After its partnership with Oklahoma, Northern Data's strategic and expansionary goals to build high-quality data centerinfrastructure for Blockchain and Cloud Computing Services in the future will receive a considerable boost.

The company already operates ten data centers around the world, with a workforce of over 180 people in seven different countries. Now, Northern Data also has plans to expand in Europe, Canada, and the United States of America.
