The CEO of Ripple, Brad Garlinghouse recently sat down with CNN reporter, Julia Chatterley on the 17th of February to talk about the company and its native token, XRP. There are many questions surrounding the company even to this day with the CEO clarifying issues with the community (especially the big holders of XRP) who don’t have access to the behind-the-scenes action that goes on within the San Francisco-based company.
The company has been striving to go completely decentralised for its native token by separating itself from the bigger XRPL systems. Many arguments about a possible IPO have been going around the ether since it was hinted at by the CEO earlier this year. XRP is ranked as one of the biggest cryptocurrency assets in the world and even though he doesn’t have a massive price, it is worth listening to Garlinghouse’s views and thoughts on the matter.
Many partnerships have been in the making over the past two years which has been astounding for the firm. Big financial companies such as MoneyGram want to utilise one of the flagship products from Ripple, mainly RippleNet.
Throughout the interview, Garlinghouse was asked what he thinks about the battle between all the digital currencies in the industry. This is pushed by the stereotype that you can either like bitcoin or Ethereum.
As a response to this, the CEO said that there will be no one winner in the industry given that there are so many different aspects of consumer issues in the market. He further added that it is not essential to compare cryptocurrencies as they all solve different problems that face consumers.
“I look at what is going on in the Bitcoin world and I don’t view it as competitive to what Ripple is doing… I look at what’s going on in the Ethereum community and I don’t see it as competitive to what XRP community is doing”.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out. For more news on this and other crypto updates, keep it with CryptoDaily!
