The Daily 2 – Episode 12, A Dive Into Cardano (ADA)

Hey what’s up Cryptodaily fans, I’m Brian Wilson and this is The Daily 2.

Cardano aka ADA is my favourite cryptocurrency project.

Today, I’ll tell you why. First and foremost, it has Charles Hoskinson at the helm. If you haven’t heard of Charles Hoskinson, you should seriously look him up. He was an original founder of Ethereum with Vitalik, is the CEO of IOHK or input/output Hong Kong, and he is, in my opinion, one of the most influential and intelligent people in all of crypto currencies and blockchain technology. His ability to articulate complicated concepts into easily understandable jargon is only 2nd to Andreas Antonopoulos... In my opinion. And if Andreas was in charge of a cryptocurrency of his own, I’d be all in! Anyway, I will include a link below to the whiteboard session that Charles did for Cardano that will blow your mind.

Secondly, it has an insane team. I mean some of the smartest, most ambitions and intellectual people in all of crypto currency are involved with IOHK and working on Cardano in one way or another. The team has written papers on cryptology that have been accepted to the biggest crypto conferences in the world, and I’m not talking just cryptocurrency, I’m talking crypto as a whole. Like the world’s largest cryptography conferences. Such as one of the most recent ones, Eurocrypt in Tel Aviv. Eurocrypt 2018 was the 37th annual international conference on the theory and applications of cryptographic techniques. Covering all aspects of cryptology, including theoretical foundations, deployment of cryptographic schemes, cryptanalysis of widely used standards, cryptographic protocols, quantum cryptography, and cryptographic currencies. (note: maybe a run of each of these next to me as I say them).

To have a paper submitted and accepted to a conference such as that is huge. And Charles and team at IOHK, along with many partners (which is a list that is growing rapidly), are bringing a much needed, adult, academic and peer-reviewed aspect to the world of cryptocurrencies. This is what will bring mass adoption. And they are hitting the ground where they aim to have an impact. Actually, traveling to places, working with governments, understanding the challenges and needs from everyday people and working towards developing the necessary tools to solve those problems. These are just some of things that this project has going on.

At the current prices (note: of Cardano, ADA, from coinmarketcap), it’s a steal! (I have to say, I’m not a financial advisor and this is not financial advice) but you would be wise, in my personal opinion, to grab a hold of some Cardano now. If you do, as with any investment, crypto or otherwise, be sure to only spend what you can afford to and are willing to lose.

The updates with Cardano are constantly coming, the project is real, has legs, and they have a legitimate and impressive road map that is being met time and time again with rollouts of new tech that’s never been done before and that will have massive benefits to the entire industry as a whole.

Some may say they are off to a slow start, but peer-review takes significantly more time but is also significantly superior because as that ground work gets completed, and the incredibly solid foundation is laid, it sets the stage for nearly infinite scalability, interoperability and the fast, accurate and efficient processes to build and add new and exciting technologies that will benefit everyone. Of course, there are always delays and changes, but this team will let you know exactly why decisions are being made. Just check the IOHK YouTube channel and see the AMA’s, or ask me anything, and updates that Charles does. I promise you will be impressed. I know I always am. The foundation they are laying is setting the groundwork for massive innovation in the future. Within 2019 and beyond, you can expect big things from Cardano. Cardano is already supported by the Trezor hardware wallet, another reason to be a fan, and ledger and other wallets are coming soon... My guess is by 1st quarter 2019. I hope that gave you some good insight and please comment below with your thoughts. If you liked this episode, give it a like, share it with others, subscribe to the channel and it that notification bell for future videos and interviews. Thanks for watching and see you on the next one!
