The CEO of Binance, Changpeng Zhao (CZ) took to Twitter over the weekend to send out a message related to the Ripple community regarding their constant ‘shilling’ of XRP as a base currency for the leading crypto exchange.
In the tweet that he sent out, CZ asked members in the XRP community to place their ‘shills’ in the comments, whilst he also put a link to several tips for digital currency projects to get their coins listed on the exchange. One of the tips includes making sure that your coin is a good one in the sense that every coin is different so he wants one with a proven team behind it.
Many of the responses came in some form of meme such as the one below! The actual case for bringing XRP as a base pair isn’t that surprising giving its relative liquidity and corporate backing.
You can see one such tweet here:
The amount of exchanges that have adopted XRP as a trading base standard is small but it is constantly growing. The financial technology firm which assists other companies to access the blockchain and make illiquid liquid, AlphaPoint launched DCEX last August which is a next-generation digital currency for retail and institutional investors that was the initial exchange to have XRP as its exclusive base currency.
As mentioned by SludgeFeed, in other recent news, the Estonian based XRP United launched with “BTC/XRP, ETH/XRP, and BCH/XRP trading pairs. The exchange notes that XMR/XRP will be added once a Monero wallet is integrated into the exchange.”
After the markets crashed last week and then slowly seemed to pick up, they have dropped once again with Bitcoin priced at $5,312 and XRP being priced at $0.47 at the current time of writing.
