eToro Seal Huge Premier League Football Advertising Deal

eToro, the FOREX platform come crypto trading platform have signed a huge advertising deal that will see the platform sponsor seven of England and Wales’ Premier League football teams. This is important for cryptocurrency adoption as it is set to expose a number of people to the idea of cryptocurrency and Bitcoin and may of course encourage some new investment, through the eToro platform. It’s good news for eToro, but better news for the wider cryptocurrency community. eToro join the list of a number of blockchain based companies that are seeking sponsorship deals with football clubs. The money involved here is huge, but I suppose the exposure is far greater, it’s a worthwhile marketing ploy. The teams that will benefit from this deal are Brighton & Hove Albion, Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, Southampton and Leicester City. The deal, will see eToro appear on advertising boards at the homes of these teams and will no doubt also allow eToro to appear within advertising space owned by the clubs too. We’re not quite on the level of full shirt sponsorships yet, but should this go well, you never know, we could see players wearing the eToro logo soon enough. According to Cointelegraph, eToro UK’s Managing Director Iqbal V. Gandham has said:
“This is very much the first step on a long road to football fully embracing bitcoin and the underlying blockchain technology.”
See more for yourself, here. Football clubs have the potential to link the likes of eToro to institutional investors, therefore as the years go by, we expect to see more and more crypto advertising enter this space. Of course, we can’t expect football clubs to invest in Bitcoin, but the rich owners of the clubs? The wealthy fans of the clubs? The players themselves? You never know, we might even see football transfers made with cryptocurrencies too, one day.
