The meme coin $VINE has been introduced: On January 18, 2025, Elon Musk mentioned he is "looking into" reviving Vine, and @rus, the CEO of Vine, has just rolled out a meme coin. Vine was once a hugely popular platform for sharing short videos, enabling users to record and post clips up to 6 seconds long. Debuting in 2012, it rapidly attracted a large audience, particularly among younger demographics. The hallmark of Vine videos was their looping play, which fostered a platform for users to display their creativity and sense of humor across a variety of content. Many of these videos became viral sensations on social media. However, in 2017, Twitter, which owned Vine, announced the platform's closure. Despite its shutdown, Vine's legacy endures, with numerous creators who first found fame on the platform having transitioned to other sites like YouTube and Instagram.
