Bancor is a decentralized network made up of open-source protocols designed to facilitate on-chain trading and provide liquidity.

The core protocol, known as Carbon, is a decentralized trading system that lets users engage in automated trading strategies. They can use customized on-chain limit orders and range orders, and even combine these to develop automated strategies for buying low and selling high.

Carbon's design ensures that once executed, orders cannot be reversed. They can be modified directly on-chain and are safeguarded against MEV sandwich attacks. This suite of features gives users an unparalleled level of control and automation, enabling them to craft innovative trading strategies on-chain.

Fast Lane, another open-source arbitrage protocol, enables users to conduct arbitrage between Bancor protocols and other on-chain exchanges. This mechanism redirects arbitrage profits back into the Bancor ecosystem.

The governance of all protocols within the Bancor ecosystem is managed by the BancorDAO through staked BNT.
