Crypto exchange Bybit will donate five percent of the prize pool from its BTC Brawl contest to global charity Save the Children, as the exchange gets in the holiday spirit.

The exchange, which is based in Singapore, is teaming up with the charity, which has helped more than one billion children globally since it was created, for the BTC Brawl contest.

The contest is proving popular and has already attracted more than 6,600 signups from traders around the world. Deadline for registrations is Thursday, November 28.

The contest features a prize pool of around 100 BTC, which means the nonprofit will receive five BTC, valued at around $35,000 at the current price.

The move is part of CEO Ben Zhou’s plan to make Bybit the most respected and customer-friendly exchange, and to fix some of the misconceptions people have of the cryptocurrency and blockchain space.

“It’s important to always give something back,” he said.

“Save the Children is engaged in vital work globally, and anything we can do to help support that is important - a view we think our customers share.”

Ben said Bybit is working to develop a regular schedule of contests through Bybit Games and is working to make the partnership with Save the Children an ongoing one.

This partnership with Save the Children will certainly see us working with them again in the future,” he said.

For its part Save the Children has been delighted with the news and the opportunity to work with a business from the cryptosphere.

Ettore Rossetti, the charity’s global digital lead, said he hoped this would be the start of a long-term partnership with Bybit.

“Crypto-philanthropy is an exciting and new frontier of giving. Thanks to Bybit and Bybit customers, we will be able to further our ambition in reaching the most marginalized children around the world,” he said.

“Save the Children is excited and grateful to work with Bybit.”

The BTC Brawl has been set up to allow global crypto trading teams to compete to see who can deliver the best returns.

Registrations for the contest are open now, with the competition due to start on November 28, and runs until December 13.
