It may still be in its infancy, but the blockchain and cryptocurrency space has numerous startups. Two of those startups are Coinbase and Ripple, which are actually in the top 50 hottest United States startups of this year to work for on LinkedIn.
Both platforms were given top 50 spots on the list with the crypto exchange Coinbase coming in at #29 and the San-Francisco based business, Ripple came in at #28.
Whereas neither of the firms made the lists top ten - or even the top twenty - this is a great start for cryptocurrency. Being acknowledged by one of the biggest and most popular social networks out there for professional means, this is a huge feat.
This is without a doubt a big milestone for both firms, especially given that the list includes startups like the food delivery app DoorDash, scooter company Bird and Robinhood. Compared to 2018, both Ripple and Coinbase fared worse considering that the two firms were actually ranked in the top ten in last years list.
Aside from these two firms, no other pure-play cryptocurrency or blockchain-related startups were listed on the top 50. As aforementioned, the stock trading app Robinhood was ranked at seventh and even though it does buy and sell certain cryptocurrencies, it is a more traditional finance app than a crypto startup.
After making the list, Robinhood said:
It’s an honor to be ranked #7 on this year’s #LinkedInTopStartups list. We’re excited about what we’ve got in store and can’t wait to show everyone!
