Hubii And Microsoft Announce Event, Partnership Launch

Tech giant Microsoft and blockchain technology company hubii will co-host an event on September 12 to officially announce their partnership and discuss the development progress happening in blockchain.

The event is titled ‘Microsoft and hubii - Blockchain in Practice’ and will take place on Thursday from 13:00 to 15:45 CEST at Microsoft Norway HQ in Oslo. Participants will include some of Norway’s top innovators in blockchain.

Event Presentations

Microsoft Solution Architect Manager Tobias Bjørndal will open the event by discussing Microsoft’s overall vision and strategy for blockchain.

Next, Toll-Messia, CEO of hubii, will talk about the company’s backstory and the nahmii protocol’s features, use cases, roadmap, and recently-launched foundation.

Norway Block Exchange (NBX) Managing Director Stig Aleksander Kjos-Mathisen will then give a presentation about NBX’s role as the first member of the nahmii Foundation. He will also demonstrate the NBX payment gateway proof of concept that will soon allow Norwegian Air Shuttle passengers to pay for flights and other services using cryptocurrencies.

StartupLab Director of Corporate Partnerships Karianne Melleby will present why people should engage with early-state technologies.

To close the event, Microsoft & hubii will jointly announce their partnership. The final presentation includes a discussion of technical opinions on the project as well as details about the test results of the nahmii protocol.

Commitment To Scalability For Public Blockchains

The partnership between Microsoft and hubii is representative of the emphasis placed on increasing the scalability of blockchains and commitment to building on public blockchains. One of the keys to producing better results is building on top of existing infrastructure. At the event, the nahmii team will announce why it has chosen Microsoft Azure to power its protocol.

Currently, hubii is focused on developing nahmii to improve the scalability of transactions on the Ethereum blockchain. The project also plans to launch an IEO for NII tokens on Liquid this month. According to the project roadmap, nahmii has a goal to launch a scalability solution on the Bitcoin blockchain in Q1 2020, providing a means for BTC deposits, payments, trades, and withdrawals. Later in 2020, the project aims to build a solution for full interoperability between Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Libra.

hubii CEO Jacobo Toll-Messia said about the Microsoft event and partnership:

''Working closely with Microsoft will give nahmii the platform and exposure it needs to become the premier blockchain scaling and interoperability solution. Our upcoming event, along with NBX and StartupLab, is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate the power of nahmii to Microsoft's existing customer base. This announcement is a major coup for hubii."

Blockchain Innovation In Norway

The companies mentioned above are all bringing blockchain innovation to Norway and beyond. In addition to these projects, real-world adoption has already begun to take root in the country. The move by governments and enterprises to embrace this relatively early-stage technology on a national level directly contrasts what is happening in countries like India. Back in August, the autonomous city of Liberstad, Norway announced the adoption of its own blockchain (City Chain) and cryptocurrency (City Coin). People in Liberstad will be able to pay for city goods, services, and even land using crypto.
